Where notifications can go

  • Slack. Copy new messages from an important chat into a Slack channel.
  • A webhook. Send message details to your own software, such as a CRM, billing tool, or database. A webhook is a web address that receives data from another app.

Examples

  • Slack. A key customer group chat sends new messages to a channel called #vip-support. Your team replies faster.
  • Webhook. When a customer writes, your system updates their last-contact date automatically.

Set it up

Create a rule

Open automation rules and start a new one.

Choose the trigger

For most cases, pick the event for a new message.

Add conditions (optional)

Send only what you need. For example, only one chat, or only messages with a keyword.

Set the destination

Pick Slack and choose the channel, or enter the web address of your webhook.

Publish

Save and turn the rule on.
Messages can contain personal details. Send them only to channels and systems that your company trusts, and keep them limited to the people who need them.
Ask a developer to set up the receiving end of a webhook. Slack is the easiest option for non-technical teams.
