Customers do not always write in the language your team speaks. AI translation lets you read their messages in your language and write back in yours.

How it works

  • Incoming messages. A message in another language is shown to you translated into your display language.
  • Outgoing messages. You write in your language, and the customer receives your reply in theirs.

Turn on translation

1

Open your settings

Go to your workspace settings and look for the message options.
2

Enable message translation

Switch on translation and pick your display language.
3

Choose automatic or manual

Turn on automatic translation if you want every new incoming message translated for you. Leave it off if you prefer to translate only when needed.

Translate one message

If automatic translation is off, you can still translate a single message. Open the message options and choose the translate action.

Translate one chat

You can also turn translation on for just one conversation and pick the language for it. Look in the message toolbar of that chat.
Machine translation can get meaning, tone, or names wrong. For prices, dates, legal terms, or sensitive topics, ask a colleague who speaks the language to check.
Keep your own messages short and simple. Plain sentences translate far better than slang or long, complex ones.

Credits and languages

Translation may use credits, and not every language may be supported. Check AI credits for current details.
