Chats often hold sensitive files, such as IDs, invoices, and photos. Media privacy makes sure only the right people can open them through Risponse links.

How it works

With media privacy on, file links created by Risponse are protected. Inside the Risponse app, you are signed in, so files open normally. Outside the app, a link only works while it is still valid. This applies to links you copy, links sent by integrations, and links in data sent to other tools. Nothing changes for your customers. Files they send and receive on WhatsApp work as before.

Turn it on

1

Open settings

Go to your workspace settings and find the media privacy section.
2

Switch it on

Use the toggle to enable media privacy.
3

Pick a link lifetime

Choose how long a shared link stays valid. Shorter is safer. Longer is easier for tools that read the link later.
Anyone who opens an expired link sees an error. To get a working link, copy it again from the chat. If you use an integration, ask it for the file again instead of saving the old link.
If you saved file links in a spreadsheet or another tool earlier, those older links may stop working in future.

Tips

  • Store the message or chat reference, not the file link. Get a fresh link when you need one.
  • Choose a lifetime that matches how fast your team uses the file.
  • Pair this with number masking for stronger privacy.
