# Not getting notifications

> Fix missing Risponse notifications on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows. Check device settings, browser permissions, and the in-app notification switch.

If new messages arrive but you hear or see nothing, notifications are blocked somewhere along the way.

## Likely causes

* Notifications are off in your phone or computer settings.
* Your browser blocked Risponse earlier.
* The notification switch inside Risponse is off.
* On iPhone, you are using a normal browser tab instead of the app added to your home screen.

## Fix it

**iPhone**

**1. Check phone settings**

Open **Settings**, find Risponse, and turn notifications on.

**2. Reinstall to home screen**

Delete the old Risponse icon. Open Risponse in Safari, tap Share, then **Add to Home Screen**. Open it from the new icon and allow notifications when asked.

**3. Turn on the in-app switch**

Make sure notifications are on in Risponse.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Notifications on iPhone need a recent iOS version. Update iOS if the option is missing.

**Android**

**1. Add to home screen**

In Chrome, open the menu and choose **Add to Home screen**. Allow notifications when asked.

**2. Check app settings**

In your phone's settings, make sure notifications are on for Chrome and for Risponse.

**Mac**

**1. Allow in the browser**

Open Risponse and click **Allow** on the notification prompt. If you blocked it before, reset the site's permission in browser settings.

**2. Check macOS settings**

Open **System Settings**, then **Notifications**, and allow your browser.

**Windows**

**1. Check Windows settings**

Open **Settings**, go to **System**, then **Notifications**. Turn them on, and allow your browser.

**2. Check the browser**

Click the icon beside the address bar and make sure notifications are allowed for Risponse.

Then turn on notifications inside Risponse and send yourself a test message.

> [!TIP]
>
> Turn off Do Not Disturb or Focus mode while testing. These also hide alerts.
