# Chats not loading

> Fix empty or stuck chat lists in Risponse. Clear local data, restart your browser, and sign in again to get your conversations back.

If your inbox looks empty, or chats spin forever, the data saved in your browser may be out of date.

## Likely causes

* Old or damaged saved data in your browser
* A poor internet connection
* A WhatsApp number that has disconnected

## Check the basics

1. Make sure your internet works.
2. Refresh the page.
3. Check that your WhatsApp number is still connected. See [connect WhatsApp](https://docs.risponse.com/get-started/connect-whatsapp.md).

## Clear local data

**1. Open the help menu**

In Risponse, click **Help** at the top.

**2. Choose the chat loading option**

Select the option for chats not loading.

**3. Clear local data**

Confirm that you want to clear all local data. This removes saved copies from your browser only.

**4. Restart your browser**

Close the browser fully, open it again, and log in to Risponse.

This works the same in Chrome and Firefox.

> Still seeing nothing? Try another browser. If chats show there, the first browser still holds bad data. Clear it using the steps in [blank screen](https://docs.risponse.com/troubleshooting/blank-screen.md).
